Terms of use

Using the calculator

The site is free and needs no account. You may use the times for personal planning, link to any page and quote individual results with a link back. Do not copy the site in bulk, scrape it automatically or present its pages as your own.

Times are astronomical calculations for a clear, level horizon at the listed reference point. They are not an official time service, a weather forecast, a guarantee of visibility or a religious ruling. Hills, buildings, cloud and refraction can change what you see. For safety-critical, legal or religious decisions, check the responsible authority.

Accuracy and corrections

We check the calculations against US Naval Observatory data and correct errors when we find them. The methodology explains the method and its limits. If you spot a mistake, tell us the place, date and source.

Sky wall rules

The sky wall is a public, text-only space for short messages about the sky. Messages are visible to everyone and are deleted from the wall after 7 days; a moderation copy is kept for 30 days. By posting you agree that:

• You are at least 13 years old and, if you are under 18, you have permission from a parent or guardian.
• You will not post insults, harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, content harmful to children, misinformation that could cause harm, someone else's personal details, impersonation, spam, links or advertising, or anything illegal.
• You will not ask people to click on ads.

Automatic filters block links, contact details and offensive words before a message is published. Anyone can report a message; it is hidden after several reports and reviewed by the publisher. We may delete messages and block access, temporarily or permanently, without notice when the rules are broken.

Reports and complaints: use the Report button on a message, or write to contact@sunsettoday.in with the message text and time. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days; content that exposes someone's private areas, shows nudity or sexual acts, or impersonates a person is removed within 24 hours of a complaint.

Grievance Officer (Information Technology Rules, 2021): Alton Jorge de Souza Vieira, contact@sunsettoday.in.

Advertising is currently disabled. If it is enabled, ads will be labelled and kept away from user messages, and the privacy notice will describe any choices you have.
